The History Department at the University of St. Thomas (MN) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in early modern (1500-1815) French or British history. Candidates with the Ph. D. or equivalent are preferred, but ABD with an imminent completion date will be considered (with an initial appointment at the rank of instructor). Applicants should be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and ongoing research in their field. Position begins in Fall 2014.
The teaching load of three courses per semester involves some combination of the following: HIST 111 Origins of the Modern World to 1550 or HIST 112 The History of the Modern World since 1550 for undergraduates who are completing their core area (general) requirement in historical studies and upper-level course(s) for undergraduate history majors and minors.
