Assistant Professor, tenure-track position in Modern and Contemporary Art History

The Department of History and Art History Program in the McAnulty College of Liberal Arts and Graduate School at Duquesne University invites applicants for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position in the history of Modern and Contemporary Art. The successful candidate will have an area of research specialization outside of the United States and in either European or Global Art. Teaching responsibilities may include sections of the introductory surveys of Western art history that are part of the University Core (general education) requirements, and both introductory and advanced undergraduate courses in the art of the Modern and Contemporary eras, including the art of non-western cultures. The normal teaching load is 3-3 and includes mentoring Art History majors. A Ph.D. in art history and demonstrated ability in teaching and scholarship is required. The position begins in August 2014.
