The History Department at Eastern Connecticut State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in American history to begin in August, 2014. The successful candidate must be prepared to teach survey courses in Early American History, upper division courses in ante-bellum history, and courses in the university’s Liberal Arts Core. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach African American history. A commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring in a small, public liberal arts college, a willingness to work with interdisciplinary programs, and evidence of scholarly potential required. Teaching experience and Ph.D. in History preferred; ABD in History close to completion considered.
