Position Summary
The Department of History at Utah State University invites applications for an entry-level, tenure-track, assistant professorship in 19th & 20th century European history (excluding Britain, France and Germany, including Russia) beginning August 2014.
Review of applications begins November 4, 2013 and continues until position is filled.
Responsibilities
While research is the primary area of emphasis, candidates must also demonstrate effectiveness in teaching and service. Undergraduate teaching will include the Modern Western Civilization survey and upper-level courses in modern Europe. The successful applicant will also contribute to our master’s level program with graduate seminars and thesis advising.
Minimum Qualifications
1. PhD at time of application.
2. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
The successful candidate must be able to satisfactorily pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with university-level teaching experience and evidence of scholarly productivity.
