The University of Southern Mississippi invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Modern European history in the Department of History in the College of Arts and Letters to begin in fall 2014. All areas of specialization in modern European history are acceptable, excluding Britain and Russia. Responsibilities will include a 3/3 load teaching world and European history surveys, upper-level and graduate courses in field of expertise, and directing theses and dissertations in a doctorate-granting department. Minimum qualifications are a doctorate in history by time of appointment and promise of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
