The History Department of Merrimack College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the field of World History to begin September 2014. Specialists in Asian or Middle Eastern history are particularly welcome. Candidates should also expect to regularly teach the World History Survey, design a new course in World History since 1945, and develop new courses in their area of expertise in support of the history major. The World History Survey and World History since 1945 are also required core courses in the College’s new major in International Studies, and other upper-level electives will also support that new program. Preference will be given to candidates holding a Ph.D. at the time of application. ABD candidates will be considered and should discuss the expected date of dissertation completion in the application materials. Note, the doctorate must be in hand by September 2014. Evidence of teaching experience, research, and publication is expected.
