Assistant Professor in Asian History

The Department of History at Utah State University invites applications for an entry-level, tenure-track, assistant professorship in Asian History (excluding East Asia and including South, Southeast, Central, Western Asia/Middle East).
Review of applications begins November 4, 2013 and continues until position is filled.
While research is the primary area of emphasis, candidates must also demonstrate effectiveness in teaching and service. Undergraduate teaching will include the world history survey and courses on some aspect of Islamic Asia. The successful applicant will also contribute to our master’s level program with graduate seminars and thesis advising.
1. PhD must be completed by June 2014.
2. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
The successful candidate must be able to satisfactorily pass a background check.
Preference will be given to candidates with university-level teaching experience and evidence of scholarly productivity.
