The Department of History at the University of Maryland, College Park invites applications from scholars of Chinese history with a research specialization in any subfield from the Tang through the Qing dynasties. Preference will be given to candidates who can participate in enhancing the University's East Asian Studies Program and contribute to the History Department’s emphasis on global interaction and exchange. The successful candidate should show exceptional scholarly achievement/promise and evidence of excellence in teaching. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate lecture courses and upper-level undergraduate seminars as well as graduate seminars on specialized topics; advising graduate students; and engaging in curriculum development. Candidates must have Ph.D. in hand by August 1, 2014.
