Early Nineteenth Century U.S. History
The Department of History at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a tenure track assistant professorship in early nineteenth-century U.S. history. We seek an innovative scholar and teacher to offer courses from the American Revolution through the Civil War. Research field is open, but we especially invite those working in cultural and intellectual history; constitutional history; Latino/Borderlands history; and indigenous studies. Interdisciplinary approaches to teaching and research are welcome. The successful candidate will participate in the university’s Core Humanities program as well as teaching more specialized courses, at upper-division and graduate level. Strong evidence of research potential and teaching promise is required. Ph.D. must be completed by July 1, 2014.
