The University of Houston - Clear Lake (UHCL) invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position in U.S. history with specialization in Colonial America, starting August 2014. Ph.D. in History required. Successful candidate will teach the first half of the lower-level undergraduate U.S. history survey up to 1877 and will have the opportunity to develop new courses within the Colonial period at the upper-level undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants should provide evidence of excellence in teaching as well as potential for substantive research and scholarship.
UHCL is adjacent to NASA-Johnson Space Center. The campus is set within the scenic Armand Bayou Nature Preserve, thirty minutes from downtown Houston and Galveston Island.
