The History Department at Sogang University in Seoul, Korea seeks applicants in American history for a three-year appointment that may be renewed to a tenure-track position. A Ph.D. and a record of publications as evidence of scholarly potential are required. Candidates' research should focus on the U.S. political or intellectual history, with an emphasis on the interwar or post-World War II period. The teaching load will be four courses per year. The successful candidate will teach in English graduate and undergraduate courses starting from March 1, 2014. The appointee will also be expected to be productive in research and publication, and contribute to our interdisciplinary program of American Cultural Studies. Starting annual salary ranges between about $44,000 and $66,000 according to appointee’s rank and experience. Benefits include bonuses, research grants, health insurance and pension.
