North American History before 1775. The department of History at Northwestern University invites applications for a tenure–track assistant professorship in North American history before 1775. We welcome candidates who focus on any of North America’s diverse communities and cultures from the sixteenth century to 1775, including British America and the Caribbean, French America, New Netherland, northern New Spain, native communities, African and African-American communities, and/or the Atlantic world. Applications should include a cover letter, CV, writing sample, and three confidential letters of reference (sent separately). All materials must be submitted electronically via the link on our departmental website at http://www.history.northwestern.edu. Applications are due by October 15, 2013.
