Habib University is seeking candidates with excellent teaching, and scholarly credentials who have a passion for undergraduate education, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to communicate and work well in teams. The University will offer opportunities for faculty to pursue research and scholarly advancement across the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences and Engineering. As academic leaders, faculty will have the unique opportunity to build a new institution, shape programs and foster synergies across fields.
The Communication Studies and Design (CSD) program will provide a rich mix of theory and practice to produce imaginative leaders and practitioners in the fields of communication. The curriculum will develop a thorough understanding of the ways in which semiotic and media systems both reflect and shape individual, political, and cultural being. Using this understanding as a foundation, it will develop technical expertise in oral, print, visual, and online communication through project-based learning in authentic contexts.
Social Development and Policy, the first program of its kind in Pakistan, will give students innovative tools and new ways to approach the challenges of development at home and abroad. Rooted in the belief that understanding local ways of knowing is key to opening new insights into socially and culturally responsible policy design, Social Development and Policy aims to train a generation of social scientists who integrate vernacular sensibilities into their development designs. The program will focus on issues facing modern Pakistan but will provide students with a dynamic mix of perspectives on pressing global development issues.
