The Department of Communications Studies and Design at Habib University is conducting an open-rank search for Communication Studies scholars. Areas of specialization are open, though we seek a scholar prepared to teach Broadcast Media at the undergraduate level and to develop additional undergraduate courses specifically relevant to Pakistan and the broader South Asian region.
Scholars whose teaching and research expertise intersects with one or more of the following sub-fields are especially encouraged to apply: Journalism Studies, Development Communication, Communication Technology, Mass Communication, Global Communication, South Asian Communication, International Television Studies, Translation, Visual Communication Studies, Digital Media, Information Science. PhD required at start date (August 2014).

Undergraduate program in Communication Studies and Design: The Communication Studies and Design (CSD) program will provide a rich mix of theory and practice to produce imaginative leaders and practitioners in the fields of communication. The curriculum will develop a thorough understanding of the ways in which semiotic and media systems both reflect and shape individual, political, and cultural being. Using this understanding as a foundation, it will develop technical expertise in oral, print, visual, and online communication through project-based learning in authentic contexts.
