Research Fellowships/Senior Research Fellowships, One-Year Visiting Research Fellowships/Senior Research Fellowships, and Postdoctoral Fellowships
Applications are invited for Research Fellowships/Senior Research Fellowships and Postdoctoral Fellowships at the Asia Research Institute (ARI) for commencement either in June/July 2014 or December 2014/January 2015.
Applications for the One-Year Visiting Research Fellowships/Senior Research Fellowships are for commencement in April, July or October 2014.
All positions are intended for outstanding active researchers from around the world, to work on an important piece of research in the social sciences and humanities. Interdisciplinary interests are encouraged. Up to three months of a 12-month fellowship may be spent conducting fieldwork in the Asian region.
A majority of the positions will be allocated to ARI’s more specific areas of research focus as listed below. However, some will be given to outstanding projects in any area outside of those listed. Applicants should mention which category they are applying to or if none, indicate the “open category”. Applications which link more than one field are also welcome.
3-Month Visiting Senior Research Fellowship Appointments
Applications are also invited for 3-month Visiting Senior Research Fellowships at the Asia Research Institute (ARI), National University of Singapore to commence in April, July or October 2014. The appointments are intended for outstanding senior researchers whose work focuses on Asia. Applicants are invited to indicate which of the ARI clusters they would like to be affiliated with (see information about clusters below). Interdisciplinary interests are encouraged. These short-term positions are essentially writing fellowships and at least one published outcome is expected. Applicants who do not normally publish in English are also encouraged and will be assisted to do so.
This fellowship comes with a monthly honorarium of S$2,250, plus complimentary university housing and travel assistance.

iv) At least one sample of published work;
v) Ensure that a minimum of two letters of reference are sent to us in confidence via email reporting on the applicant’s academic standing and on the applicant’s research project by 1 September 2013.
