Faithology, a leading online resource for the study of religion, invites qualified academics to apply for the position of Contributor. These positions are to be filled effective immediately. We will be continuously accepting applications in an effort to grow our team. Please note that this is a remote position; job location is irrelevant.
We are primarily seeking applicants with a concentration in one or more of the following areas: Baha'i, Cao Dai, Chinese Folk Religion, Confucianism and Chinese Philosophy, Jainism, Juche and Korean Studies, Sikhism, Tenrikyo.
We are also accepting applications for contributors in the following areas: Agnostic and Atheistic Studies, Buddhism, Christianity, Daoism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Mormonism, Scientology, Shinto, Wicca.
Applicants must hold a PhD or ABD in one of the above fields, or a related field of study.
Experience writing for encyclopedic journals and/or University-level textbooks is strongly desired.
The ideal Faithology Contributor is passionate about the increased awareness and dissemination of accurate and unbiased information in their field of religious study. He/she has extensive writing and editing experience, and can create academic articles quickly and efficiently.
This is a temporary, part-time, contract position. Standout contributors will have the opportunity to work long-term with Faithology.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Contributors will be compensated "per-page, per-project," based on education and experience.
- Contributors are able to work remotely. Working as a Contributor to Faithology is an ideal side-job for professors, Doctoral students and University faculty.
- Contributors can work their own hours, so long as they are able to meet the agreed-up project deadlines.
- Standout Contributors will be given the opportunity to contribute on a frequent basis.
Conditions of Employment:
Contributors will enter into a 1099 contract prior to employment.
