Position Rank/Title: Lecturer
I. The Department of Philosophy at the University of Central Florida is seeking to hire a Lecturer in Religion and Cultural Studies. The teaching load is eight courses per academic year with at least half of the courses taught online and the remaining courses taught at the Osceola Regional Campus. This is a 9-month, non-tenure earning appointment, with the possibility of optional summer teaching. The successful candidate must have at least two years of fulltime university-level teaching experience which includes several courses taught fully online. These minimum requirements must be met by the time of application. Position is expected to begin Fall 2013.
II. Minimum Degree Requirement: The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in Religious Studies or a related area from an accredited university at the time of application.
Preferences: Experience teaching courses in Religion and Cultural Studies, such as Religion in America, Religion and Philosophy through Film, etc.; experience teaching introductory level courses in Religious Studies and World Religions; ability to teach interdisciplinary Humanities and Philosophy courses; and experience developing new courses, recruiting, and advising students.
