Sam Houston State University seeks a specialist in modern European military history for a one-year, non tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professorship. The ideal candidate will also be able to teach an introductory level survey course in either World or US history, an upper division course in one or more of the following fields: Modern Africa, World War II, or the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Era, and a graduate level seminar in military history. The appointment is for one year and is not tenure-track, but is potentially renewable. The successful applicant will teach four courses per semester and will be eligible for research support. Ph.D. in history or closely related discipline is required by August 2013.
