Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow (History/Digital Humanities)  

The History Department at Boston College invites applications for a post-doctoral teaching fellowship to teach in the History Core program. Core courses cover the period from approximately 1500 to the present, introducing all undergraduates to a foundational knowledge of modern history and key historiographical debates.

All specializations except American history are welcome to submit applications, and fellows will be expected to teach broadly. Applicants with experience in digital humanities (GIS, learning management systems, multimedia, etc.) and who can teach global history are especially encouraged to apply. Appointments are for up to three years pending successful review in the first year. Fellows will typically teach large courses, including lectures and discussion sections. Fellows will be expected to carry out their own research and to contribute to the History Research Seminar. Salary is competitive and the position will carry with it a research budget. Ph.D. required by August 2013. Please submit a letter of application, CV, evidence of teaching experience, an article-length writing sample, and at least three letters of reference.
