The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at New York University invites applications for an Assistant Professor/Faculty Fellow to begin in September 2013, pending administrative and budgetary approval. CLACS is a Title VI National Resource Center (jointly with Columbia University’s Institute for Latin American Studies). We are looking for an outstanding scholar of Latin American and/or the Caribbean with demonstrable commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship and excellence in teaching. Discipline and regional specialization are open. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per year in the CLACS MA program (including one course in the first-year core), mentoring students, supervising MA theses, and participating in faculty colloquia. PhD must be in hand by time of appointment and must have been completed no earlier than September 2008. The position is renewable annually for a maximum of three years.
