Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor; Islamic Middle East or in Middle East Studies

Middle Eastern History        

Missouri State University is seeking to hire a Ph.D. or A.B.D. with specialization in the history of the Islamic Middle East or in Middle East Studies for a one-year, leave-replacement non tenure track, visiting assistant professor or non-tenure track, instructor to teach upper-division courses on the modern Middle East and/or Medieval Islam and lower-division World History.  The appointment will begin on August 12, 2013.  Candidates should show evidence of successful teaching on Middle East History.  All applications must be completed online; no paper submissions will be accepted except for letters of recommendation, which must be sent to the chair of the search committee. Employment will require a criminal background check. First date of consideration will be April 22, 2013. Review of the applicants will continue until finalists are identified.
