Lyman Briggs College, an undergraduate, residential, liberal arts, science program at Michigan State University, invites applications for visiting instructors for 2013-2014. (We anticipate three full-time openings.) Candidates must be committed to undergraduate teaching, and should hold a MA/MS with a specialization in the history, philosophy, and/or sociology of science, technology, environment, or medicine. Interests in literature and science, public policy, and/or philosophy of technology would be welcomed. Having a PhD is preferred. The successful candidate will teach a total of five courses: two or three sections of our first-year introduction to history, philosophy and sociology of science (HPS) course, and three or two upper-level HPS courses.
