The History Department at Colgate University seeks a one-year, visiting assistant professor in U.S. history to begin Fall 2013. Preferred subfields are (1) America pre-1800, e.g., Revolution, Constitution, Native American-White relations, or (2) social or urban history in the late 19th and 20th centuries, especially racial/ethnic relations. Doctoral degree is expected prior to or shortly after date of hire. The successful candidate will teach five courses in his or her area of interest. Salary and benefits competitive.
