Instructor in African, Asian or European history. The Department of History at The University of Memphis invites applicants for a non-tenure track instructorship in any non-American field of history to start August 2013. We are particularly interested in candidates who could offer courses on China, East Asia, Africa, India, ancient, or world history.
The position is a one-year appointment with a 4/4 teaching load, renewable annually with full benefits. Responsibilities include creating and teaching undergraduate and graduate history courses for the History Online Degree Program, as well as teaching in the classroom. Applicants must have a Ph.D. by the time of the appointment.
Initial review of applications will begin on March 19, 2013 and may continue until the position is filled. Preliminary interviews applicants will be conducted by phone. Candidates will be brought to campus for final interviews.
