The Department of Humanities at Texas A&M International University is seeking applications for an Assistant Professional in History to start in the Fall 2013 semester.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses per long academic semester (Fall and Spring) in the History program, with the majority of those courses being in the freshman U.S. survey core sequence. There will also be some opportunities for upper-division teaching to fill the needs of the History program. Department-level service is also a requirement. Research and publication are not requirements of the position.
Applicants must have research expertise in U.S. history in the 18th and/or 19th century, with preference for specializations that include the history of Texas. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in History. Advanced ABD candidates will be considered. Teaching experience is highly desired. Successful candidates will receive a three (3) year appointment, which may be renewed based on performance and need.
