The Bowdoin College Department of History and Asian Studies Program are pleased to accept applications for a one-year, jointly-appointed postdoctoral fellowship in South Asian History, in any subfield or time period, beginning in the fall of 2013 with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Fellows are expected to teach three courses each academic year, contribute new courses to the Bowdoin curriculum, and participate in the life of the department. One course will be a seminar on a topic of the candidate’s choosing.
Applicants for this fellowship must have completed their Ph.D. no earlier than January 1, 2011. Candidates who expect their Ph.D. by June 30, 2013 should provide documentation from their home institution confirming this schedule. Applicants must possess a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and research.
The fellowship carries a stipend of $50,000 plus benefits, as well as a $5,000 research and travel fund.
