The Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Washington University in St. Louis invites applications for a full-time renewable Lecturer in Chinese language, to begin Fall 2013. Responsibilities include teaching all levels of modern Chinese language, mentoring graduate teaching assistants, and developing teaching materials in a setting that integrates multi-media technology in the college-level classroom. Requirements include a minimum of an M.A. in Chinese linguistics, language pedagogy, or a related field; native or near-native proficiency in Chinese and English; and five years of experience in college-level Chinese language teaching in a US college or university, including upper-level courses. We seek a colleague who can demonstrate exceptional teaching ability and innovative approaches to student engagement.
