Teaching Fellow, Latin American history

History - Augustana College invites applications for a Teaching Fellow in Latin American history beginning in the 2013-14 academic year. Preference will be given to applicants who have a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching. We particularly encourage candidates capable of teaching introductory courses in both colonial and modern Latin American history, in addition to upper-level courses in Mexican and Caribbean history. Augustana College is on a trimester calendar with an annual teaching load of seven courses (2/2/3) over three terms. Candidates will teach four classes in Latin American history, and three classes in Augustana’s innovative first-year Liberal Studies curriculum. A Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment and a commitment to creative and effective undergraduate teaching is expected. Augustana College is a selective liberal arts college of 2,500 students, most of whom live on a wooded 115-acre campus.
