NUMBER OF POSITIONS: One or more positions open in Newport Oregon at Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area. .
STARTING SALARY : GS-5/6/7(approx. $31,315 to $38,790 per year)
WORK SCHEDULE: Resource Education and Interpretation Technicians work 40 hours/week and work on all holidays and weekends. This is “Term” appointment is for one year and may be extended up to 4 years total dependent upon funding.
LOCATION: Newport, Oregon
Present costumed interpretive tours of historic Yaquina Head Lighthouse.
Instruct outdoor labs for the general public and visiting school groups focusing on intertidal ecology.
Provide visitor services at the interpretive center information desk.
Collect entrance fees at the park fee station.
Assist in development of weekly work schedules for staff.
Provide informal resource education services for the general public focusing on lighthouse history, intertidal ecology, seabird rookeries, harbor seals, and migrating whales using spotting scopes at wildlife observation decks.
