The Department of History and Geography at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette seeks applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in African American history beginning fall 2013. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate-survey, specialized upper-division, and M.A.-level courses. The candidate must have a strong commitment to teaching and scholarly publication. Ph.D. in History required, teaching experience and publications desirable. UL Lafayette is located in Acadiana, the region of southwest Louisiana known for its Cajun and Creole heritage, and has an enrollment approaching 17,000.
