Phillips Academy, Andover, seeks an Instructor in History and Social Science with particular expertise in history, beginning in the 2013-14 academic year. Successful candidates must be prepared to teach students at every level in this four-year school, and, as a member of the department, participate in the instruction of courses in US history required for the diploma, as well as areas of particular expertise in an area study and/or world history. Specific assignments generally comprise three or four sections, most likely with two or three preparations. The Academy seeks dynamic individuals who will be active participants in all aspects of a residential school - teaching, house counseling, and coaching. A Master’s degree plus a minimum of three years teaching experience is preferred. A full background check is required. Deadline for applications is February 15, 2013.
