The Humanities Department of the Illinois Institute of Technology seeks applications for a Senior Lecturer (fulltime, non-tenure track) in architectural history beginning August 2013. The successful candidate will primarily teach introductory surveys of architectural history. The ability to compellingly present a wide range of architectural history and its cultural contexts, from antiquity to modernism, is essential. Close coordination with the College of Architecture in the development and on-going refinement of these courses will be expected. The successful candidate will also be expected to offer courses on other interesting topics, allowing us to extend the current course offerings from Humanities. We are building our undergraduate enrollment and seek applicants with an interest in helping us to attract and engage students. The position is initially a one-year or three-year appointment with the possibility of reappointment. Salary is dependent on experience and includes paid benefits. Ph.D. by August 2013 is required.
