Lecturer in West African Languages

The Program in African Studies at Princeton University is accepting applications for a full-time, three-year, renewable lecturer position in West African languages beginning September 2013, to teach in our African languages program. The successful applicant will be asked to teach a total of five courses over two semesters (including courses at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels) and to advise undergraduate students. The position requires proficiency in one or more West African languages, with preference given to candidates who are able to teach more than one West African language and who emphasize the connection between language and culture. An MA or PhD in a related field and demonstrated excellence in college-level language teaching for at least two years is required.
