The Department of Communication at Worcester State University seeks a tenure-track assistant professor of Communication whose teaching and research focus is on the theory and practice of social media and emerging digital technologies. We are looking for a candidate that has developed theoretical and critical perspective on social media, and demonstrated practical experience in any area of new media production. The ideal candidate will be able to develop and teach theoretical and applied courses in social media, and teach core courses within the department, namely mass communication, writing, and critical media literacy.
The Communication Department at Worcester State University is a growing department that values teaching excellence, scholarship, an interdisciplinary approach within the liberal arts and a commitment to servicing the community. Our colleague will have the opportunity to participate in the Center for Community Media.
A terminal degree is required. The committee will consider ABDs near completion but the degree must be completed by date of hire.
