As part of FDU's Becton College, with its liberal arts mission, successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in history, or be able to show that the Ph.D. will be in-hand by the appointment date of August 2013. The successful applicant will be qualified to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in Latin American history, to include upper-division courses in his or her specialization and a lower-division regional survey that covers the Early & Modern eras, as well as the departmental service courses including the World History sequence and Atlantic Worlds. The ability to teach in any of the following subfields is a plus: Women & Gender, Comparative American Colonies, Indigenous Peoples and/or Borderlands.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
