INTERNATIONAL Studies - Visiting Assistant Professor - 3 year position
The College of Charleston School of Languages, Cultures and World Affairs (LCWA), invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor in International Studies to begin fall 2013. This position is a new appointment for one year with the likelihood of renewal for an additional two years. The International Studies program seeks a candidate whose research and teaching focuses on European immigrant communities from North Africa Francophone Africa, South or East Asia. The candidate should be able to contribute to inter- and multi-disciplinary teaching and research that enhances our interdisciplinary program in International Studies. Candidates from Anthropology, Sociology, Cultural Studies and Media Studies are specifically encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate must be able to teach our International Studies introductory course as well as the major's Capstone courses and contribute to an area studies concentration in at least one of the above regions. An earned PhD before August 2013 is required.
