Two-Year Visiting Assistant Professor Position in Television Studies

The Department of Communication and Culture at Indiana University invites applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Television Studies to begin Fall 2013. We seek a humanities-trained Ph.D. whose primary area of concentration in their teaching and research is television and who focus on one or more of the following: narrative and genre; theory and/or history; feminism, critical race studies, and/or queer studies; television and new media; global TV; audiences and fandoms; stars and celebrity culture; convergence culture; or media industries and production studies. The successful candidate will join the Film and Media Studies division of the Department of Communication and Culture, which is home to a large, interdisciplinary faculty and thriving undergraduate and graduate programs.
Applicants are expected to have a strong research agenda, a commitment to excellence in teaching, and to have their Ph.D. in hand by August 2013. They must also demonstrate the ability to teach core courses as well as to develop new offerings at the undergraduate level.
