Assistant Professor of History, Asian History

The Department of History and Geography at Columbus State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Asian History.   The starting date is August 2013. 

Specialization within the field of Asian History is open, but a focus on gender studies, international relations, or race/ethnicity will be given preference. The successful candidate will teach both introductory survey courses and upper-level/graduate courses each semester.  

A Ph.D. in History (or related field) and university teaching experience are preferred but applications from ABDs will be considered.  The successful candidate will demonstrate potential for continued professional development, scholarship and community engagement.  

Review of applications will begin on December 15, 2012. Applications for part-time and full-time faculty positions must include transcripts of all academic work, and official transcripts must be presented prior to campus visit if selected for interview.  Applicants must have the ability to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) requirements, in particular a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
