The Center for Medicine, Health, and Society (MHS) in the College of Arts & Science at Vanderbilt University invites applications for the position of Senior Lecturer (non-tenure-track). Interdisciplinary humanities educators with expertise in medical humanities, literature and medicine, rhetoric, poetics, or the intersections of medicine with literature, philosophy and the arts are particularly invited to apply. Primary responsibilities include teaching and mentorship in undergraduate programs, participating in multidisciplinary research teams, and helping to build connections between MHS, the Vanderbilt Medical Center, and the Nashville community at-large. MHS is an innovative multidisciplinary research and teaching center that applies humanities and social science methods to biomedical questions. Review of applications will begin on January 7th2013 and continue until the position is filled. The appointment will begin fall 2013. Ph.D. required by the time of appointment. The final candidate for this position must successfully complete a background check.
