The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures invites applications for a one-year position (possibly two, pending approval) as Visiting Assistant Professor of Japanese to begin in Spring 2013 or Fall 2014. Applicants with a Ph.D. in the field of modern/contemporary Japanese culture, literature, film studies, and/or visual culture are encouraged to apply. ABDs will be also considered. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in Japanese language at all levels, in addition to courses in her/his specialty. Native or near-native proficiency in both English and Japanese is required. Lehigh University is a private, research-intensive institution in southeast Pennsylvania.
