The History Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applicants for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, with a specialization in Heritage Studies. We seek a candidate whose research includes community-based history projects as well as initiatives in such areas as oral and public history and historic preservation. Teaching will include undergraduate and graduate courses in oral and public history as well as introductory and advanced level courses in area of specialization.
The Department is especially interested in applicants with experience working with (im)migrant, indigenous, or African diasporic communities but welcomes applications from other scholar-practitioners who concentrate on the study of heritage. PhD required. The PhD may be in History or related field.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Start date September 1, 2013.
