The Department of Human Ecology at the University of California, Davis invites applications for a tenure-track academic-year (9 months) faculty appointment, at the Assistant Professor level, with expertise in development during childhood and / or adolescence studied in diverse contexts. The successful candidate will have an active program of research and demonstrate experience and excellence in one or more of the following areas: social-emotional development, cognitive development, or risk prevention/intervention. The individual who is selected for this position will play a key role in developing collaborative research projects with faculty in the newly configured Department of Human Ecology which is comprised of three units: Human Development and Family Studies; Community and Regional Development; and Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in child and/or adolescent development, will be a member of the M.S. program in Child Development and the Ph.D. program in Human Development, and will be expected to contribute to the University’s Cooperative Extension mission, to conduct applied research and outreach, with a focus on child and/or adolescent development in context.
Candidates must hold an earned doctoral or equivalent degree in Human Development, Psychology, Education, or other related field and have a strong record of relevant research at time of appointment.
