The George Washington University. The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor position to begin Fall 2013 for a scholar in the field of criminology with research and teaching interests in race and crime. We seek a colleague who will complement existing department strengths in criminology and who will contribute to the teaching and advising needs in both the graduate and undergraduate programs. The selected scholar will also be affiliated with the Africana Studies Program. Basic Qualifications. Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely related field and a record of, or promise for, excellence in research and teaching and a strong commitment to securing extramural funding. ABD applicants will be considered at the Assistant Professor rank but must complete all degree requirements for the Ph.D by August 27, 2013. Application Procedure.
