The Department of History at Howard University invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professorship in African history to begin August 2013. The candidate must have a doctorate in African history, with research and teaching ability in the field. There are no restrictions as to sub-field, region or period of specialization. Responsibilities would include teaching an introductory level course in African history and colloquia and seminars for undergraduates in the candidate’s specialization. Salary will be competitive and will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and experiences.
