The Department of History of Science at the UW-Madison invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the history of recent life sciences, extending back to the mid-twentieth century. The position begins in August 2013. Applicants should already hold a doctorate in History of Science, Science and Technology Studies, History, or related disciplines, or they must complete the doctorate by the time of the appointment. Interested candidates should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, complete graduate transcripts, and a writing sample of approximately 40-50 pages (the equivalent of a journal article, dissertation or book chapter), along with three signed letters of recommendation to Eileen Ward, History of Recent Life Science Search Committee, 210 Bradley Memorial, 1225 Linden Dr., Madison, WI 53706-1528. Electronic submission of materials in PDF format will also be accepted, and should be directed to: search@histsci.wisc.edu.
