The Department of History of the University of West Georgia invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professorship in African History, starting fall 2013. Responsibilities include teaching a world history survey as well as advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in African history.The candidate will be expected to contribute to the university's minor in Africana Studies and one or more of the department's following graduate fields: Atlantic World; War and Society in Global Perspective; or History of Religion. Ph.D. required at time of appointment.
