The Institute for Anthropology of the University of Cologne (Germany) invites applications for a Full Professor (W2/W3) with a focus on Urban Anthropology and Mobility.
Areas of research should cover a special expertise in “urban-induced transitions in the Global South”. Applicants are also expected to teach courses in the Anthropology and in the MA programme on Culture and Environment in Africa.
All applicants are required to have a PhD in Social / Cultural Anthropology.Salaries are based on the German W-scheme, with additional benefits equivalent to international salary standards, contingent on academic achievements and teaching experience. Teaching obligations are negotiable. Candidates are expected to acquire German language skills within the first two years of appointment by the University of Cologne.
The position was created as a result of the University's successful application in the excellence initiative of the German government, and will be integrated into the University’s key profile area “Social, Cultural and Economic Transitions in the Global South“”.
