Assistant Professor, Modern Middle East History

The Department of History and Archaeology is seeking a historian of the 20^thc. Middle East who has interest in areas such as colonial and post-colonial studies, gender studies, nationalism and transnationalism, media and culture. The position is at the assistant professor level and begins on September 1, 2013.

Applicants with some academic experience as well as outstanding recent PhD recipients in these fields of specialization are encouraged to apply.

In addition to normal teaching duties, applicants are expected to contribute to interdisciplinary programs and to the development of curricula and advisory functions related to the department’s PhD Program. The language of instruction is English. The period of initial appointment is four years.
