Montana State University, Bozeman invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Modern Asian History, excluding specialists in the history of Japan. The department particularly welcomes applications from candidates whose sub-specialties include environmental history; history of science/technology; cultural history.
The successful candidate should be prepared to teach a survey course in the history of modern Asia, as well as upper-division courses in her/his areas of expertise. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the department’s graduate program. The Ph.D. is required by August 2013, as well as evidence of the ability to teach effectively and to conduct independent research.
We are a well-published, friendly department with a 2-2 teaching load, situated in a spectacular mountain environment.
