Assistant Professor of Chinese Studies
The University of Richmond, Department of Modern Literatures and Cultures invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chinese Studies, beginning August 2013. Specializations must include some area of modern Chinese literature and culture, plus demonstrated excellence in teaching Chinese language. Candidates with comparative or interdisciplinary research and teaching interests are preferred. Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin and English, a strong commitment to teaching at all levels of the undergraduate liberal arts curriculum, and outstanding scholarly promise are required. A Ph.D. is required. ABDs will be considered, but must have the Ph.D. degree by the start date.
